“For I know whom I have believed and I am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day” (2 Timothy 1:12).
To know is to believe; to believe is to be convinced. Such confidence is based not upon ourselves but the One who is the object of our faith. To communicate his assurance, Paul utilized a banking term that means to “entrust” or “deposit” into a place of safe keeping. As deposits large and small are secured in a bank vault so is the deposit of our faith in the person of Jesus Christ.
