“The angel of the Lord appeared to him in a blazing fire from the midst of a bush; and he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, yet the bush was not consumed” (Exodus 3:2).
Moses had no expectation of this particular day out in the field being different from any other. Yet, it was in the “ordinariness” and routine of just another day that God revealed himself in an unexpected way. The reality is that in myriad ways the presence of God burns around us. For those who have eyes to see, we daily walk upon circumstances and people where the ground is no less sacred. That God reveals himself in unexpected ways is something we should come to expect.
