Displeased? Angry? Just because God chose to act graciously towards someone other than the Hebrews? Because God acted redemptively for the benefit of a people group you despise and fear? Jonah preferred death to living in a world where God loved Ninevites (4:3). In foolishness we think our perceived enemy does us more harm than the very real enmity that dwells in our own heart.
