“Jesus said to him, ‘He who has bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean, but not all of you.’ For He knew the one who was betraying Him” (John 13:10-11).
Jesus modeled a Kingdom approach to the life of service; one not based on personalities, circumstances, or worthiness. His focus was upon doing the right thing, even to the point of washing the feet of the very one that would betray him. The evaluation of people and circumstances can lead to a variety of options as to how we might respond. When a commitment to serve is our focal point, however, it eliminates any other possible options of consideration.
