“You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not covet your neighbor’s house” (Exodus 2:3,17).
From beginning to end the Ten Commandments embody the sum of theological understanding and ethical application. The vertical dimension of relating to God, when rightly understood, will properly demonstrate itself in the horizontal dimension of living with and relating to others. A people who live in unique relation to God are expected to live and operate in ways that are unique to the rest of the world.
