“And my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power” (1 Corinthians 2:4).

The effectiveness of our witness isn’t to be found in the number of people won over by persuasive arguments. Any positive impression we might make on the lives of others will be the result of our having been a demonstration of the Spirit and our confidence in the inherent power of the gospel. And what is a demonstration of the Spirit but a bearing forth of the fruit of the Spirit in all of our interactions — love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).
