“and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world” (1 John 2:2).

In a culture filled with so much hateful rhetoric, we do well as the church and stand apart when we interact with others as if we really believe and are convinced they are the very ones for whom Christ died. Too often we limit such efforts to only those like us; that believe like us, look like us, and don’t make us uncomfortable. When God’s grace is truly lived out, it will inevitably thrust us into unexpected circumstances with unexpected people.
