“Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things again is no trouble to me, and it is a safeguard for you” (Philippians 3:1).
There is a reason we find in scripture a redundancy in the messaging of faith and the life of obedience God’s people are called to embrace. While not exciting, stimulating, or entertaining, a consistency of sound doctrine is necessary for staying the course and avoiding the eccentric, fanciful, and novel revelations that are a departure from historically accepted biblical orthodoxy and are presented under the guise of being more authentic, spiritual, and deeper. A new teaching will not bring about a deeper life. This will be accomplished only by unspectacular cross-bearing and a long-suffering obedience.
