“You have sown much, but harvest little; you eat, but there is not enough to be satisfied; you drink, but there is not enough to become drunk; you put on clothing, but no one is warm enough; and he who earns, earns wages to put into a purse with holes. Most are not given to critical and thoughtful reflection of their own lives; evaluating the dividends received based upon the time, energy, and resources invested. If there is not an intentional and purposed approach to daily life, then it can easily become an exhausting grind of going through the motions; existing in a rhythm of life that moves from paycheck to paycheck with nothing to show. Only by considering our current ways can we shift gears to another way; The Way; and discover, instead, the vitality, fruitfulness, and reward that comes from a life that pours itself into serving the One who has called us to make a difference in our respective worlds.
