“Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap; they have no storeroom nor barn, and yet God feeds them; how much more valuable you are than the birds” (Luke 12:24)!
When it comes to worry, have you ever wondered why the Lord didn’t say, “Consider the ostrich, how it buries its head in the sand and pretends to hide itself from the worries of the world.” Instead, he points to the birds of the air; those that live on a higher plane. It is vivid portrayal of God’s grace; that his provision for the least of his creation will be experienced by the more valuable within creation. Diversionary tactics are unnecessary. The One who bears our sin and suffering desires that our worries be directed upon him as well.
