The discouragement of the Ephesian Christians, and Paul’s desire for their perseverance and well-being, became the basis of this particular prayer. The truth is there is always a reason to pray, and there is never a reason not to pray. Prayer is the inhale and exhale of God’s children. To not pray is akin to holding one’s breath. It can’t be done for long.
