“The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever” (Isaiah 40:8).

In the course of surveying 3600 subjects, ages 50 and over, Yale University researchers found that those who read books more than 3.5 hours a week had a 23% decrease in mortality compared with those who didn’t read at all. What is even more hopeful, however, is the declaration of Isaiah over 2500 years ago; that for people of all ages there is eternal benefit to the reading and hearing of God’s word. Only by burying ourselves in The Book can the One who brings life immortal be found.
