“Blessed be the Lord, who has given rest to His people Israel, according to all that He promised; not one word has failed of all His good promise, which He promised through Moses His servant” (1 Kings 8:56).
Many of God’s promises are accompanied by a premise, “If you will do thus and so, I will do thus and so.” There are two promises, however, that are unconditional covenants, that are based upon God’s grace and not human action. One is the promise made to Noah; visually guaranteed by a rainbow. The other is in regard to the salvation available through Jesus Christ; symbolized by a cross. In the storms of life, it is upon these that you can find rest. God’s promises offer possibilities that reach beyond our problems.
