“So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household” (Ephesians 2:20).

For a people once separated and excluded (v.12), the redeeming work of God accomplished in Christ Jesus has upgraded our citizenship and family status to a level that transcends all earthly allegiances and relationships. The more we grow in faith, the greater our sense of alienation to this world. It is often said to strangers passing through, “You’re not from around here, are you?” As children of Light, called to live in a world of darkness, I wonder if others would ask the same of us.
