“Jesus answered and said to her, ‘If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water’” (John 4:10).

A basic need such as thirst precipitates asking for a drink, which leads to a conversation about living water and eternal satisfaction. It’s a reminder of how the most casual interactions of a day can become a context for discussing matters of eternal consequence. This is most effectively accomplished when we are willing to meet people where they are instead of waiting for them to accommodate us.
