Her ad hominem argument, “Yes, I am one of the dogs, thus, I get some of the crumbs,” is not intended to be witty. Her deficiencies do not define her. Humility doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not. She humbly accepts her place that she might benefit from the Lord’s offerings. Someone has well said that the Lord turns no one away empty except those full of themselves.
