“The one on whom seed was sown on the rocky places, this is the man who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; yet he has no firm root in  himself, but is only temporary, and when affliction or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he falls away” (Matthew 13:20-21).

Emotion is never an accurate barometer in matters of faith; easily deceiving the gullible. Too many have had an initial excitement about the gospel because it was delivered by a charismatic messenger; couched in a hot, flavor-of-the-day topic, or they were drawn in by an emotional group of friends running to the altar; only to fall away once the “buzz” has passed. Emotion doesn’t validate faith; staying the course does.
