CULTIVATING FRIENDSHIPS

031618-Friday

“A man of too many friends comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother” (Proverbs 18:24).

The wisdom of experience teaches that the continual, orbiting presence of certain individuals around one’s life will either be for our good or our detriment. A circle of “friends” characterized by negativity, gossip, critical and judgmental spirits will eventually become a noose of one’s own hanging. Such people provide an easy answer to the question, “Am I a better person spending more or less time with them?” Choose, instead, to hang with those who challenge you, hold you accountable, push you to be your best.
