“What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase” (Romans 6:1)?
Having stated that “where sin increased, grace abounded all the more” (5:20), it’s as if Paul is anticipating potential objections or misconceptions regarding grace. That someone could come to such reckless conclusions regarding grace is unimaginable. Could you imagine Zacchaeus, the blind man Bartimaeus, the Gadarene demoniac, the prodigal son, or yourself, having experienced grace desiring, now, to go back and live life in their former state? We must understand and appreciate God’s grace as something not just merciful and forgiving, but transforming and powerful.
